New green loans offered to manufacturers
Barclays Commercial Bank has launched a new loan scheme which gives cash back payments to manufacturers looking to finance green initiatives.
In partnership with the European Investment Bank (EIB), Barclays is offering payments of between £600 to £51,000 for projects ranging from £200,000 to £17m, and loans of between £100,000 and £8.5m with a minimum 5 year term.
"The bottom line benefits to manufacturers operating more responsibly are becoming increasingly acknowledged," said Ray O'Donaghue, Head of Manufacturing for Barclays Commercial Bank.
"Our research shows that 32% of UK manufacturing companies now see the green agenda as an opportunity rather than a challenge. This scheme will encourage sustainable business practices by reducing the cost of borrowing."
