ukfirst helps FIRA conference go Green
With carbon foot printing, global warming and sustainability high on the political and business agendas, FIRA’s National Furniture Conference on 11 October at The Heritage Motor Centre, in Warwickshire will have a green theme. ukfirst will be there with practical solutions to reduce waste and increase efficiency in the furniture market.
The ECOnomics of Sustainability event will explore how companies are responding to the challenges posed by environmental issues and will cover topics such as:
• How to be greener without affecting your bottom line
• How to measure and reduce your carbon and ecological footprints
• How to take cost effective measures to enable you to make best use of your resources
• What measures the industry is taking to meet its environmental responsibilities
ukfirst has developed three new master-class programmes specifically focused on reducing material waste which will be unveiled in an afternoon break out session. These are vital for any company aiming to improve profit margins and gain competitive advantage. ukfirst Master Engineers will bring expert furniture knowledge and experience to help companies to categorise different types of waste, review root causes and prioritise areas for improvement. Senior managers will be provided with the tools and techniques to identify issues and implement changes for continuous improvement.
With an average saving of £140,000 per company from a ukfirst process improvement workshop it’s worth finding out more! Contact Alex Woodfield on 01438 777801 or email or calling 01438 777700 – attendance is free for FIRA members, £100 for non-FIRA members (£50 for additional attendees).
