Benchmarking supply chain performance of the UK Furniture Industry
In recent years Supply Chain Management has generated much interest. The notion of your company, its suppliers, their suppliers, your customers and their customers, all working together to meet the needs of the ultimate end customer for the mutual benefits of all parties concerned is a very appealing proposition. However, adopting and implementing a supply chain management strategy requires considerable effort and represents a quantum change in direction for many companies.
It is critical that organisations have a detailed understanding of current supply chains and associated processes. This understanding will serve an individual organisation, and industry in general, in its efforts to strengthen and grow.
This publication examines the supply chain practices currently adopted within the UK furniture industry and provides invaluable insight into the challenges that face supply chain members operating within the UK furniture industry. The document aims to be formative in instigating a step change in thinking, practices and bottom line results in the industry, all of which can be achieved should the action plan for supply chain performance be implemented.
