Toyota visit hailed a success
Cabinet, upholstery and kitchen manufacturers were shown presentations about Toyota and its manufacturing principles, including the TPS (Toyota specific Production Systems) and were given a tour of the plant, which uses several lean production systems. Visitors could see several essential lean tools and techniques in action.
Delegates were given the opportunity for open questions based on what they had seen. David Storer, Master Engineer at ukfirst said: “This was a well executed visit - quite apart from being interesting and enjoyable, our guests were able to see the value of the Toyota production system at first hand.”
