Launch of major Fabric 2 Furniture initiative

The FIRA National Conference on 13 July 2006 sees the public launch of ukfirstÆs Fabric to Furniture Project in conjunction with LERC, Cardiff UniversityÆs Lean Enterprise Research Centre. This jointly funded project commenced in April 2006 with a pilot to review the supply of fabric to contract/office furniture, upholstered and bed manufacturers. 

The project identified the key issues surrounding the supply of fabric and established what opportunities exists to improve the overall performance of the supply chain. 

Results from over 30 companies will be disseminated at the conference. The event will give delegates the opportunity to hear key results; highlighting areas of best practice and common themes. 

Any member of a bed, office/ contract or upholstery supply would benefit from the project.
