Boost commercial performance by improving health and safety in 2008 with help from FIRA.

FIRA runs a series of seminars to raise health and safety performance in our industry sector, and new this year are Health & Safety management awareness courses geared towards furniture manufacturing.

The focus will be on:

• Helping people at work to protect themselves and their business

• Helping you decide how to make your workplace safer and healthier
  
• Enhancing your bottom line through efficient, accident-free performance

These seminars will address issues concerning roles and responsibilities, risk assessment, accident investigation and employee engagement.

If you find you are too busy coping with business demands, that there is too much red tape surrounding compliance and that it is a minefield to sort your way through understanding the requirements of health and safety legislation, come to one of these seminars to find an effective, inexpensive way forward to tackle this important but often neglected topic.

This awareness training is aimed at all levels of employee; it is particularly suitable for managers and supervisors who have been given the additional responsibility of looking after health and safety in their company.  You will get help to answer questions such as:

How do you deal with accidents and near misses?

Which accidents do you have to report?

What is the role of the inspector, the fire brigade or the local authority Environmental Health Officer?

What lessons can you learn from your accident book?
