ukfirst works with furniture manufacturers to assist in the generation of sustainable process improvements that will not only improve competitiveness but will also enhance customer satisfaction.
ukfirst supports manufacturing and other improvement initiatives within individual companies and also implements projects that will provide industry wide benefits by promoting the common approach methodology for process improvements throughout the furniture industry.
Background
ukfirst is a business consultancy, established in 2004 by FIRA (Furniture Industry Research Association) with support from BERR (Department for Business Enterprise and Regulatory Forum, formally DTI) to assist companies to compete in today’s fast paced UK Furniture industry.

ukfirst’s aim is to assist UK furniture organisations to achieve world class performance in quality, cost and delivery through manufacturing,process improvement and the implementation of lean techniques.
